Maxine Kaplan is an erstwhile private investigator and the author of THE ACCIDENTAL BAD GIRL (Starred Review, PW) and WENCH, as well as the upcoming graphic novel JULIA & LIV SAVE THEIR BAT MITZVAH (Fall 2027). She's also written various interactive visual novels for Storyloom. She's a twin and a collector of old books. Maxine lives Brooklyn, NY, where she teaches kids how to tell stories.
